Adults and Families

I have been treating Adults in a variety of settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, large group practices and my own office for over 30 years. I respect the multiple commitments adults are engaged in and thereby realize the sacrifice and the flexibility needed to choose to better their own lives while juggling the responsibilities of work and family. Albeit, when you decide to engage in therapy, most of my patients are highly committed to improving their coping styles in order to lead happier and more productive lives. I employ a developmental approach to reconceptualizing patients concerns which frees them from unhelpful patterns and naturally restores a healthier model for understanding of problems and mindful solutions. I often have patients return to treatment when a new set of circumstances requires a modification of their current toolbox for a more versatile retooling, thereby reenlisting in a more satisfying/productive style.

I treat a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, ADHD/ADD, family/work changes and integrative health; the intersection of medical illness and optimal psychological functioning. I utilize holistic assessment and treatments to return mind/body performance to its natural balance through medical and psychological science. Though I am adept at multiple treatment paradigms such as cognitive/behavioral therapy, family/systems theory and mindfulness/hypnotherapy etc., as a medical psychologist, I prefer to personalize your treatment rather than use canned treatment protocols which may marginalize your hard earned results. I receive many referrals from physicians for consultation regarding medication intervention and healthy lifestyle changes and a large percentage of my patients refer friends and family knowing I respect their privacy while understanding their unique cultural and family values.
